Congratulations to the Jewell H.S. Wind Ensemble as they placed first place in the NW Invitational Concert Band Contest at Clackamas Community College this past Tuesday. They scored 248 points, securing them the top score of the entire festival, and qualifying for the Oregon State Band Championships for the second time this season. They were one of only two ensembles who qualified for state. Jewell was the smallest district present (1A) competing with 15 other districts in the 3A, 4a, 5a, and 6a categories, and they won the first place trophy for their performance.
