Dear Jewell School and Community-
In consultation with the Oregon Health Authority, Clatsop County Health Department, Jewell School Board leadership, Jewell School union leadership; along with keeping the Governors latest mandates, we regret to inform you that school will continue to be closed for Monday May 3rd through Wednesday May 5th.
Packets and meals will be distributed on Tuesday the 4th.
We will resume in person on Thursday 6th and Friday the 7th.
Closing school is not something that I take lightly. If not for the Governor's mandate I would not recommend it. I know that the best place for kids is in school. Kids across Oregon are going hungry, being neglected, being abused, and are fighting depression during this pandemic. This is not an ideal situation for any of our children. Please know that Jewell School places the safety of our children and staff as a top priority.
Please encourage your children to complete the work that is being delivered to them over the next week. Please send your children to school next Thursday and Friday.
