Jewell School and Community,

Last night we received word that one of our freshman students tested positive for COVID-19. We are working closely with the family to ensure that they isolate and stay safe. If you have a freshman in your household please pay close attention to them and any primary symptoms that they may be experiencing. If symptoms arise please contact the health department and get them tested.

In light of Jewell School getting it’s fourth case in a matter of four days, and in consultation with Clatsop County Health, Oregon Health Authority and Jewell School board leadership; Jewell School will NOT be in session for the week of April 26 - 30. We plan to be back in session on Monday the 3rd of May.

Packets will be sent home on Tuesday the 27th and Thursday the 29th. Please expect them to be delivered to you at the same approximate time they were delivered last spring and fall.

Thank you for your patience and for sticking with us through this difficult time. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Superintendent Phillips at the following email: stevep@jewellk12.org

Sincerely,

Stephen W. Phillips, PhD
